The Moral Crime

Updated: 6 days ago

The divergence of Donald Trump from America, for me, began with his repeated demands for Barack Obama's birth certificate. Then I watched in complete dismay as America elected him President. The State of Hawaii released Obama's long form birth certificate in 2011 yet Trump continued for the next five years to fan the flame of hatred that loved the lie. Even when in 2016, when Trump spoke publicly that "Obama was born in America, period," he highlighted himself repeatedly in his own raised white supremacist hand signals for all to see. Watch for yourself as Trump makes the hand sign. It comes at the 3:45 mark.

It was never about concern for where Barack Obama was born, it was about the popularity of the lie. In 2017 he went back to the lie because he perceived a drop in polling because he had strayed from it.

Thus it was cemented in Trump's popularity, his enablers love of the lie.

And his enablers understand his winking acknowledgments are made only under duress of being called out for the lies, secure in their reading of hand signals and dog whistles. Thus they continue in their love of the lie that represents their hatred, divisiveness, bigotry and greed.

Fast forward to January 22, 2020. “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

Never mind that Trump has been fact checked to be telling thousands of lies, as President, for the last three years. Never mind that he had been impeached and was facing trial in the Senate. Never mind the fact that on the next day January 23, 2020 China locked down an entire province. His enablers love the lie.

On January 24, 2020, Adam Schiff delivers an emotional closing argument on day 3 of Trump impeachment trial. He warns us all of Trump's love of the lie as a political tool. He tells us that Trump would rather choose the lies over his own National Security Advisor and the danger that presents the nation. Watch video:

On the same day, President Trump praises China's handling of the pandemic despite their doctors being censored and silenced for trying early to alert the world.

“China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

Here again we have Trump's National Security Advisor warning him of the impact of the pandemic.

“This will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency...This is going to be the roughest thing you face" Trump’s National Security Advisor to Trump Jan 28, 2020.

President Trump chose the lie.

“I think the virus is going to be—it’s going to be fine.”

Fast forward to the middle of May, 2020.

President Trump owns the death of George Perry Floyd Jr. When he told police officers, "Please don't be too nice," he as much as signed George Floyd's death warrant. He gave the green light to the violence that killed him. Then he sat in the White House during world wide protests making Scarface like statements akin to "Say hello to my little friend." Our President acted like a cowardly criminal.

"I was inside and watched every move, and couldn't have felt more safe...nobody came close to breaching the fence. If they had they would have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen. That's when people would have been really badly hurt, at least." President Donald Trump, May 2020,

He said those words about defending himself against angry Americans. There is something drastically wrong when the President of the United States sits cowering like a third world dictator. Donald J. Trump is a criminal. His criminal negligence led to the death of George Floyd the same as if he was a drunk driver speeding on the crowded sidewalks of Fifth Avenue. No one should pretend that Trump's words encouraging police violence did not reach the ears of Police Officer Derek Chauvin and influence his behavior. His criminal negligence led to thousands of Covid 19 deaths through his intentional downplaying of the pandemic and mocking mask wearing. His criminal negligence led to the deaths of those that died in the insurrection.

Had George Floyd not died, had we not been hit with a once in a 100 year plague, we may not have gotten a true glimpse of Trump's truly rotten character, his depravity, his willingness to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of lives needlessly coupled with his eagerness to place military forces on our streets in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, all to advance his personal and political agenda.

Written specifications of some of his specific high crimes can be found in the following article which also contains in depth warnings from military and defense personnel and analysis of Trump's subversion of our military, which once again, had it not been for the George Floyd protests, we would not see just how successful Trump had been in this regard.

The house of representatives gave us evidence of Trump's disregard for the rule of law when they drafted the first impeachment articles but that didn't slow him down. Now he has advanced to spreading manufactured stories of election fraud, sowing the seed to levy war against the United States. Fanning the fires of prejudice and political division in faithful obedience and worship of the lie.

Kim Ward, the Republican majority leader of the Pennsylvania Senate, said the president had called her to declare there was fraud in the voting. She also said that the threat of violence was so strong from the Republican base that getting her house bombed was a surety if she said aloud she would not heed them. Trip Gabriel, New York Times.

Georgia election official, Gabriel Sterling warned that people would get killed if the calls for violence didn't stop. Watch the video:

Trump once again chose the lie.

After Trump's blatant persistence in the lie, Georgia's Mr. Sterling called him out, completely debunking the lie. This was six days prior to the insurrection. Watch video:

Lots of folks have been busy comparing MAGA to a cult. Not without reason. For example, I give you David Koresh, a Seventh Day Adventist Branch Davidian, who was selected by members, as their prophet and leader.

A tenet of the Branch Davidian faith rests on the prophecy of Ezekial where the Lord told Ezekial to cook up some food and measure it out and eat only small portions each day in front of everybody to represent how the Lord was gonna restrict their spiritual diet giving only small revelations until he lead them back onto the straight and narrow. Ezekial was OK with this until the Lord told him to use human dung to cook it with. So he argued with the Lord saying "Not so." The Lord tempted him and he resisted. In compromise, the Lord let him use animal dung. Well, the Davidians believe that their revelations are a part of a long line of revelations going back at least as far as Martin Luther's nailing his thesis on the chapel door and progressing through revelations such as the methodists, baptists, adventists, seventh day adventists, davidians, to branch davidians (who have immigration status in Israel and who believe in the femininity of the Holy Spirit) and then comes David Koresh, whom God told to take all the women as his own wife.

David missed the lesson of Ezekial that the Lord will not suffer you to be tempted past that which you can't resist. While to me the lesson is clear, that as Koresh took all the women to be his own, so have our religions declared that "my way is the only way and that you should be my followers." Poor David forgot to say, "Not so" to the Lord. He didn't reason and committed vile acts that brought horribly agonizing violence, death and destruction and the message was lost.

Let that be our example of what we can expect to unfold should Trump's enablers continue to love the lie and refuse to say "Not so."

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18 KJV

Enough is enough.

Who are these enablers? Well, when Nixon was forced to resign we were told by "Deep Throat" to "follow the money." In regard to Trump's first impeachment defense, the Associated Press has done just that following the money that paid for the legal team that represented Trump during his first impeachment to lawyers and organizations professionally and financially connected to evangelical Pat Robertson and his Regent University.

Pat Robertson has embraced the lie. Winking at the lie, Robertson says, "But no, he isn’t lying; to him, that’s the truth." The demonstrative evidence, the winking flip flopping when called out, says otherwise.

“You go down the line of things that really aren’t true,” Robertson continued. “And, you know, people kept pointing to them, but because they loved him so much and he was so strong for the evangelicals — the evangelicals were with him all the way — but there was something about him that was good, that God placed him in that office for the time.”

Pat Robertson loves the lie. He covers it over with "God's blessing."

Remember David Koresh? Not all those that had sex with him were minors. Many spread their legs willingly as in duty to God, with "God's blessing" acknowledged or bestowed from their former spouse or life partner. They were convinced not by Koresh, but by the earnestness of other church members, that there was something about him that was good, that God placed him as their leader.

Pat Robertson's 700 Club and Christian Broadcasting Network continue to whitewash Trump as a Saint, publishing a list of accomplishments that read like the President's tweets. Adolph Hitler had a list of accomplishments too. The autobahn, revival of the German economy, unification of Germany and Austria, reclamation of the Rhineland region and the Sudetenland but all his accomplishments can never cover over the genocide and other atrocities that occurred once unchecked power was obtained.

Evangelicals and anti-abortionists need to say, "Not so" to those that want to practice racism and division in our country. "Not so" to those that want to practice deceit and destroy the rule of law. By latching on to Donald Trump, lying to themselves that he is the way, the only way, they made a pact with a very great evil to our nation. They are cooking their message with human dung. They are embracing vile acts that will lead only to agonizing violence, death and destruction. We need leaders who will heal and not divide us. We need leaders who will lead us to say, "Not so." Their oaths to defend the Constitution are on trial here. Democracy and the rule of law is on trial here.

Republicans were given a chance to divorce themselves from Trump at the start of the year but elected to not even consider the evidence. The unwillingness to compromise and remove Donald Trump is mind boggling. Why was Mike Pence even on the ticket if he is such a disagreeable alternative?

Evangelicals and anti-abortionists can wrap whatever wrapping they want on Donald Trump but he will remain a vile, despicable human being whose subversive and seditious criminal activities have caused tremendous damage to this nation. You can laud all kinds of accomplishments on this Presidency but it won't bring back grandma or the thousands of souls of Americans that accompany her after having depended on Trump's intentional lies that "it will go away, just like the flu."

Its not just Pat Robertson, the evangelicals and anti-abortionists, and not even all of them, but those of them that have joined the racists, divisionists, unscrupulous politicians and others both foreign and domestic that want to subjugate the American populace and commit harmful, evil acts, an unholy alliance and an abomination to both God and man.

Multiculturalism is the Human race. Multiculturalism is the American race.

In WWII after the Battle of Midway, Winston Churchill had this to say:

"The annals of war at sea present no more intense, heart-shaking shock than this battle, in which the qualities of the United States Navy and Air Force and the American race shone forth in splendor. The bravery and self-devotion of the American airmen and sailors and the nerve and skill of their leaders was the foundation of all."

Like it or not, we have become a new, multicultural American race. A melting pot of religions, traditions and genetic definitions, tolerance and intolerance, both authoritarian and champion of liberty. Those that would deny this love the lie.

Cultural contributions from every corner of the globe make us what we are today. From the African xylophones and drums, Arabian flutes and lutes, the steel drums of Caribbean, the Spanish guitars and castanets, the list goes on and on and on. Not just in music, but in law, art and sciences the contributions are incalculable. The marvel of human diversity coming together to form the American race and culture is a resplendent display of The Divine. God is more infinitely diverse than we are capable of understanding.
